A second hand auto parts supplier has promised to deliver guaranteed second-hands to anyone who buys a Tesla Model S electric car.
The offer, which has been advertised in the US and Australia, was announced by Tesla last week, and has been accompanied by a short video which encourages buyers to take the offer.
Tesla’s promise is to ensure that buyers of the electric sedan get the second-handed parts, which include the battery pack, motors, brakes, steering and chassis.
It is the second such offer made to date.
First-hand parts are expected to be delivered to customers in Australia by mid-September.
In addition to the promise, Tesla has also offered to send first-hand items to any Tesla owners who do not already have a Model S, with the option of taking delivery of a second-edible car as a gift.
A Tesla spokesperson said the offer was for anyone who bought a Model 1 in January 2018 or later, and was a result of feedback from customers.
“We have received thousands of feedback since launch, and we’re really excited to be able to offer this guarantee to our customers,” they said.
